Let's trade him now that he has little to no value. Good job Snow.

Absolutely. Anyone willing to bet he's his usual pile of shat next season even though it's his contract year?

Bailey knows Garth will take care of him. No need to try hard.

Tavares wants him on his line. Tavares really wants to win.

"...Travis is a really nice standard definition television in a HD world."

This is a serious concern. The game has been changing rapidly. Hamonic was good enough in the old days (not all that long ago), but his value has diminished, because he's not fast on his skates, nor does he provide much offense, as Dan said. I'm not sure the Isles even have to protect him in the expansion draft.

Like KO he may looking for a leadership role, like a perfect foundational player for the expansion franchise. Like it or not this is becoming a fast development league so Hammer may be older than you think. Same for Boychuk. Watching Girardi last night I may be wrong but the MTL D is a museum by comparison to NYR's. MTL looked pretty tired out in that OT.

There is a reason Garth did not trade him for a top line winger. No other GM in their right mind would make that trade.

I'm going to disagree, but only in so far that the league has passed him by. He has more offense than given credit for, but I will concede that it might be time for a trade. While a top line forward is doubtful, he still has value as a top 4 RHD. If he has another season like this one though, that value goes away. Call me crazy, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I think he can bounce back and he still has a friendly contract. I think Hamonic would need to be in a package for a top 6 forward.

I'm going to disagree. I think Hamonic just had a terrible season. The guy isn't that slow and he has always been a steady defenseman with a physical edge. I probably brutalize the guy more than anyone else but let's not forget he was a pretty good defenseman before last season. We have to hope he bounces back bcs he ain't worth shat now and trading him makes zero sense at this time.
He should have been traded when Snow had a chance but he's Snow.

I hope you're right! You wouldn't know it from this season, but time will tell....

I wouldn't rush to dump him, and I might even protect him in the expansion draft, hoping for a bounce back season. I doubt he has much value now, however.

When I said he's not a fast skater, maybe I was being unfair. In my mind, I was comparing him to Leddy who can use his speed to overcome some of his mistakes/giveaways. But Leddy is REALLY fast, so it's an unfair comparison.

I agree. I would not dump him. I have no issue if Hamonic needs to be included in a package for a 2C.

I think Hamonic can still be a very useful dman and especially if Weight hires the right coaches and plays the right D system. It will be tough to trade Hamonic off of this season and I'm fine with him coming back.

Definitely agree with this. He had a terrible season, no doubt, but he's never been nearly this bad before. I hope and think he will rebound next season if he can stay healthy.
